- Papa John’s launched its first NFT collection.
- The collection is called Papa Johns NFT Hot Bags.
- 19,840 NFTs will be given away for free.
As part of UK’s biggest free NFT giveaway, Papa Johns has launched its first-ever NFT collection inclusive of 19,840 collectible NFTs. Set to drop in early March, fans can get their hands on nine pizza hot bag-inspired designs.
Papa Johns UK first teased its pizza fans with a 3-second video uploaded on Twitter. The pizza giant described the event as ‘something cool’ and something everyone shouldn’t miss.

Additionally, the NFT collection boasts fun and cool design names such as ‘Papa 1984’, ‘Papa Cheese Melt’, and ‘Papa Tag’.
What’s more, Papa Johns NFT Hot Bags were minted on Tezos. As Tezos does not require big amounts of energy, consuming over two million times less energy than popular Proof of Work networks, these NFTs are “cleaner” than ones minted on Ethereum. Consequently, these NFTs are likewise energy-efficient and more accessible to people globally.
In detail, the ‘Papa 1984’ NFT bag is comparable to the Gen Z trend for insulated streetwear. It mimics the style of thermal pizza hot bags, used as a fashion accessory. It has an adjustable crossbody strap with a repeated logo imprinted on it. Furthermore, this NFT design is available in three block colorways, with a color pop tag.
Meanwhile, both the ‘Papa Cheese Melt’ and ‘Papa Tag’ NFT bags took inspiration from street art graffiti graphics that incorporated dance fashion styling. This is to highlight the hip-hop era from the time Papa Johns first served the public in 1984.
Moreover, Tom Hoff, a professional NFT designer, expressed his thoughts on this NFT giveaway:
NFTs have exploded so quickly and yet many people are still unsure how to collect them, or believe that they come with big price tags. It’s great to see a brand like Papa Johns helping to make NFTs more mainstream and that two of my designs will allow people worldwide to enjoy them in the metaverse.
Notably, the NFT Hot Bags followed the first ironic fashion collection that Papa Johns launched. Last year, the platform put Cheddar on the limelight as Papa Johns introduced it with its own streetwear collection sold on Depop.
